WHS ISSUES:

Evaluation: Below is a table of general WHS issues that I had to consider when working on my project, whether it was at school, home or work. During this project, I spent time working on this project in a business environment, where there are a lot more going on and a lot more hazards and WHS issues like this I had to be careful about.

Tripping and Electrical Hazards

Looking at a computer screen for too long can cause headaches or sore eyes.

Sitting in the same position or looking at a screen for too long can cause minor health issues, such as sore eyes or bad backs.

A good chair can prevent pains or bad backs while a bad one can create comfort and health issues.

Using the wrong mouse, could cause hand cramps and discomforts.

Fires are a big risk in some workplaces. Fires can cause damage in the workplaces and can be life threatening.

In the event of an emergency such as a fire, workers need to know what to do and where to go.

Medical Emergencies are a risk in workplaces, especially hands-on businesses like those in factories, making technical products or using big machinery.

Stay aware of where the cords are to prevent tripping on them. Make sure the Power point is switched off when plugging cord in and out.

Avoid looking at the screen for too long, take breaks when working and make sure the brightness level of your screen suits the environment.

You need to take regular breaks when working to make sure you don't over work yourself.

You need to find a comfortable chair that fits your needs and assists in a good posture.

You need to choose a mouse that is comfortable for you and make sure to take regular breaks.

There needs to be an extinguisher handy so if any fires start, there are means available to out them out.

Most workplaces and schools provide evacuation plans for if an emergency happen. These can be found displayed throughout the workplace.

There should be a group of trained first aid members and a handy first aid kit, so if a medical emergency happens, there are people to take care of it, who know what they are doing.
